Mentor-Teacher Track Program
For individuals engaged in Trillium Awakening there may come a time when you wish to engage with the community in a deeper way and are feel called to become a teacher. There is a formalized program that moves a student through being a mentor, interning teacher and full teacher.
In years past, the mentor/advanced courses were run by the Institute of Awakened Mutuality (IAM) as part of their role as the educational arm of Trillium Awakening. IAM has shuttered their doors so the Teaching Circle has created an Education Committee to handle those responsibilities. The formalized structure of what course are necessary is still in the works. However, the basic outline for progress will be described below.
The advanced courses are open to any participants who want to deepen in their awakening for personal reasons, and they are also the foundational courses necessary as part of the mentor/teacher track. You are welcome to attend these classes anytime after your awakening has been confirmed and they are not exclusively for those who already know that they want to become a mentor. In fact, many people who take these courses want to have some time to integrate and stabilize in awakening before deciding to become a mentor.
Please Note: This page is in flux at this time and much of the information will probably change over the next year. For now, it gives a basic framework of the Mentor-Teacher Track and the advanced courses given by Trillium Awakening.
Advanced Courses
The Advanced courses will combine online conference with our Thinkific teaching platform for all classed. Residential classes will also utilize the Thinkific platform for handling essays and videos that are complementary and supplementary to the courses.
1) Navigating Whole-Being Realization (NWBR) (formerly Welcome to Your Second Life – WTYSL): This class is currently under reconsideration pertaining to content. it is designed to be taken within the first two years after your Whole-Being Realization. It typically embodies the cultural wisdom and empowering knowledge we have gained about the second life journey and what to expect in the coming years.
Each NWBR will be limited to 8-12 participants and is comprised of four 3-hour sessions, for a total of 12 hours (Subject to change). They may either be residential, though because of the international nature of Trillium Awakening, they will most likely be online. You may also be meeting with a partner or two from the course during the week as part of the course curriculum.
2) Deepening Whole-Being Realization (DWBR) (formerly Deeping In Your Second Life – DSL): DWBR is the second course in this series. It is an extraordinary and compelling week-long retreat where you will explore mutuality and deepen your development. It should be taken 2 to 4 years after your Whole-Being Realization. You will meet and get a sense of the potential of your own realized condition both individually and in relationships, as you enrich your ability to hold and nurture both yourself and others. You will develop skills that can be used to help guide others if you choose, whether in the Trillium path process as a future mentor or teacher or in your own life situation at home or work. After DSL, participants meet monthly with their small group teacher and fellow small group participants, by video conference.
3) Third Whole-Being Realization: This week-long course is in the stages of development. This third class is designed to be taken 5-7 years after your WBR. By this time, the student has most likely moved through the majority of their Sacred Reconfiguration process and is starting to experience much deeper aspects of their being which some would describe as soul or divine or sacred qualities. After this course, participants will meet monthly with their small group teacher and fellow small group participants, by video conference.
4) Advanced Mutuality Skills (AMS): This week-long course is designed to deepen your understanding and experience of mutuality, expand your discriminative awareness, and provide training in mentoring skills. In the future it can be taken after DWBR and before the third course or after the third course. Whether or not you’re considering mentoring others, the experience of being in this course and learning these skills will support your own process of integration and evolution in your second life. At this time, for any on the Mentor track, this course is necessary, though in the future, this course will also be open to anyone in the Trillium community at least four years post-WBR confirmation. After this course, participants meet monthly with their small group teacher and fellow small group participants, by video conference.
On completion of the above courses, those wishing to become mentors and teachers may begin the application process. The first level of this track is becoming a Mentor. Mentors are volunteers who desire to support others on the Trillium path. Once becoming a mentor, you may remain at that level for as long as you like. Some people want to go on from there to become Interning Teachers and Teachers. Others are happy to continue as Mentors. After DSL, participants meet monthly with their small group teacher and fellow small group participants video conference.
Those wishing to apply to become a mentor will choose a Trillium teacher to sponsor their candidacy to advance to mentor. Their sponsor will assist them through the application process.
There are objective and subjective guidelines for moving on to each level on this track. For instance here are some of the guidelines used in certifying mentors:
- 15 months in the work
- 12 months living Whole Being Realization
- 8 to12 calls in an AMS graduates group with a full teacher
- 20 sittings attended or equivalent in courses
- 12 private sessions with a full teacher
- Six therapy sessions since your awakening
After being a mentor for a minimum of 12 months, you may apply to be an Interning Teacher. There are similar objective and subjective guidelines for each level of the process.
