Skinny Poem: Here
The window is dirty, still. Its busted blinds held in place by string wound around a nail. A more perfect future beckons with “Some day…” but Here is all we ever have.

Against a bland and uninspiring middle class background, with its unremarkable pleasures, pains, and suppressed emotions, I held a romantic ideal of the perfect love relationship which would lift me beyond my drabness into the Divine. Since this perfect lover never appeared, I necessarily relinquished him to the background and went on to the ordinary…
The Role of Trust in My Awakening Process “Why didn’t you just go ahead and bust the guy?” asked my trusted friend Junelle. We were all sitting at a birthday party–ten of us, friends and intimates of many years now. My birthday friend was commenting how both I and a companion had each in turn…
from: Dancing in the Fire: Stories of Awakening within the Heart of Community, edited by Bob Valine I thought for a moment in silence. “I am dual, both limitless and limited.” Senior Waking Down Teacher, Sandra Glickman asked, “Who are you?” “Tell me more,” she prodded.
